Event overview

This year, for the first time ever, AIM for SEVA Canada’s annual fundraising gala took place virtually. This event helps raise funds that support educational opportunities for underprivileged children in India, who are in urgent need – especially due to COVID-19.

The annual gala usually consists of a lavish dinner, speeches, special guests, entertainment and an auction. We worked with the team to help plan for a virtual celebration instead. The event was livestreamed  and guests were able to interact with each other via a chat feature and some even hosted watching parties. There were various speeches and performances from several Indian celebrities from Bollywood actors, including Preity Zinta and Anupam Kher, to athletic champions including, P.V Sindhu and Deepa Malik. Meals were also packaged and delivered to all guests hosting watching parties and the auction took place online. The event drew over 1000 viewers and helped raise the funds necessary to keep these children in school.
